Soundbites: The Week in Audio - 16.08.19

Bauer has had a busy week relaunching InStream and adding seven new radio services! Meanwhile Young Audio Awards winners are taking over Fun Kids and Viking FM is off to Sheffield!

Bauer Media is relaunching its digital audio ad platform, Bauer InStream, so it can exclusively sell it’s network of brands to advertisers in a "safe and sound" context.

This comes after claims that two-thirds of top UK brands report brand safety issues due to digital audio advertising currently being bought primarily via anonymous 3rd party exchanges. By Bauer taking back control of their own digital audio advertising inventory, they’ll be the only platform to provide "complete transparency" around ad placement in a premium brand-safe context.

This couldn't have come at a better time, as last weeks Rajar results show that 36 million adults now tune into radio via digitally enabled platforms and Bauer now boasts the largest digital audio audience in UK commercial radio.

Winners of this year’s Young Audio Awards, which are supported by both commercial and BBC radio, will be presenting the weekend breakfast show on Fun Kids. The shows will be broadcast at 8am on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer and will provide these talented young radio enthusiasts an opportunity to get their foot in the door.
