When Heart Breakfast goes national on June 3rd, Jamie Theakston will be joined by Amanda Holden as a new co-host. The breakfast team will be rounded out by singer and TV personality Ashley Roberts. The new networked show replaces 21 local show from across the UK. Read more here.

Radio revenue accelerates in a year of growth for total UK advertising spend

As ad revenues continue to grow, radio is holding its own with an impressive 5% growth year on year. This is even more impressive when you consider other traditional media is coming under pressure against a backdrop of increasing digital spend.

Podcast share of all audio ad spend projected to grow in 2020

The latest WARC Global Ad Trends Report predicts that podcasts will account for 4.5% of all audio advertising spend in 2020. If accurate, that’s very impressive growth - up from 1.9% in 2018 - and bodes well for the continued expansion of the industry. Get more stats and predictions here.

Acast makes its first acquisition

With competition in the marketplace hotting up, podcasting giant, Acast has bought Pippa to enhance it’s offering to all podcasters. The aim of acquiring the hosting, analytics and monetization company is to allow Acast to aim to work with podcasters of any size.
