Global to launch national breakfast shows on Capital, Heart and Smooth.

Global media has announced it will launch UK-wide national breakfast shows on Capital, Heart and Smooth radio.

Global say they will be creating the three largest commercial radio breakfast shows in the UK, with 4.8m, 3.7m and 2.7m listeners respectively each week.

Lancashire 2BR to join Capital’s new national radio network.

Former UKRD radio station 2BR will join the Capital network from April 8th and move all output to Manchester and London.

The station was bought by Global in July 2018 but has been operating independently until now.

In more podcasting news, Audioboom secures funding for acquiring content and audiences.

Audioboom announced that it has raised £1.5 million in support of its original programming efforts. The audio company said it will use the money for upfront fees to secure new and existing podcast content and their audiences.
