Soundbites: The Week In Audio - 01.02.19

Radio is performing well ahead other mediums in the media market, according to the latest ad spend figures released this week from the Advertising Association/WARC Expenditure Report.

A lot of people may have been surprised by the launch of Scala Radio last week, a radio station specifically launched on the basis that classical music can appeal to younger audiences, but research has in fact shown indications of new listening trends, with almost half (45%) of young people saying they see classical music as an escape from the noise of modern life.

Audio technology is a force to be reckoned with, the stats say it all, but consider this one alone: by 2020, more than 50 percent of all searches will be driven by voice.
