Soundbites: The Week in Audio - 23.06.17

This week's blog delves deep into topics such as Spotify's blossoming relationship with Facebook, an insightful look at voice-activated devices and of course the infamous Podcast Pick of the Week.

Since MySpace one day fell off the side of a cliff, music has been almost entirely absent from social media. The top social channels, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat all lack a convenient way to share music amongst friends. Spotify, the music streaming platform that has 50 million paying users has launched a new feature for Facebook Messenger that lets you create playlists of songs with your friends. Group Playlists for Messenger uses the existing Spotify Chat extension for Facebook’s app, allowing users to create group playlists, share them with friends, and then let those friends add new songs as they wish.
